Nokia Lumia 1520 tipped for 26 September launch

We had this down as a potential November launch, but it now looks like the Nokia Lumia 1520 could be here a lot sooner.

That's according to usually correct Twitter tipsters @evleaks, who claim that Nokia's phablet will be landing on 26 September. That's just two weeks from today. Should we believe them? Well, they do have a strong record, as we said. They also leaked the press image of the handset you see above. So they obviously have a good amount of inside information on this one. So in short, yes.

Once known as the Bandit, the Lumia 1520 is going to be the largest of Nokia's Lumia phones, a 6-inch handset which is said to have a 20-megapixel camera, along with 1080p HD screen resolution, a quad-core Snapdragon CPU and Windows Phone 8 GDR3, which will enable that 1080p support.

It's a headline-grabber from Nokia and with the sound of things, it could be grabbing headlines sooner than you think. September launch also means a late 2013 shelf date, perfect for some festive season sales.

No confirmation from Nokia as yet. When we get it, we will let you know.
