Acer's sizeable Liquid S2 smartphone is a six-inch Full HD mobile that can shoot 4K video using the 13-megapixel camera. We had a play at IFA 2013 and it's a nifty handset that movie fans will adore thanks to that sharp and sizeable screen and the powerful Dolby dual speakers.
The ability to shoot 4k video is a great addition if you're a budding director, although it's a little excessive if you're simply filming your loved ones swanning about the place. Those high def movies also fill up your 16GB hard drive, so you'll need to invest in some fast and large MicroSD cards if you plan on using this feature.
The Liquid S2's 13-megapixel camera comes with all the usual scenes and filters and seems to take sharp shots, which look great on the Full HD screen. We watched some movie trailers too, which looked fantastic - pixel spotters will have to look long and hard.
The Dolby dual speakers are housed on the right edge of the screen (or bottom when phone is held horizontally), and although they won't exactly blow your eardrums apart, they belt out some good audio. Certainly enough power to comfortably watch a film on your sofa.
The quad-core 2.2GHz SnapDragon processor is powerful enough to run many apps at once, using Acer's 'float' technology. You can move the apps around in their individual windows and minimise them to clear some space, but at least the Liquid S2's spacious six-inch screen means you shouldn't have much problem with room.
We'll bring you a full Acer Liquid S2 review soon.
