Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom LTE edition confirmed

Is it primarily a camera or is it a phone? We're really not sure, but we do know that the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom LTE edition now brings 4G to the table.

An interesting one by Samsung, as was the original launch to be fair. This time, the compact camera-like phone returns with 4G, said to be capable of working on up to six different bands, which makes it compatible with both O2 and Vodafone's networks, as well as the longer-standing EE 4G network. Will any of those choose to stock this new model? If they are, they are yet to make it known.

'The introduction of LTE capabilities to the Galaxy S4 Zoom demonstrates our commitment to providing customers with the best possible product on the market,' claims Simon Stanford, vice-president of the IT and mobile division at Samsung UK.

'Today's consumers place great importance on being connected with their world, a need that is catered for with the LTE technology. It's powerful, stylish and is perfect for those who want to take outstanding pictures from a device that's always with them and then share them immediately and easily.'

If you missed the original launch or our review of it, it has a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED 960 x 540 screen, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1.5GB RAM and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, all of which fades into the background when you come to the 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with a 10x optical zoom lens and optical image stabilisation.

We gave it a fairly middling review, although one of the criticisms was a lack of 4G. With that out of the way, it looks just a little bit more appealing, price permitting.
