Last night Asus held a launch party for its latest range of tablets (including the funky and colourful MeMO Pad HD 7, which is a bargain at just £130), and we were giddy with excitement when we spotted the new Nexus 7 tablet on display. This £199 quad-core tablet is the much-anticipated sequel to last year's five-star Nexus 7, and boasts a truly gorgeous 1920 x 1200 resolution HD display.
The high-def display really is pretty, producing sharp and colourful images. We can't wait to test out our HD movie collection, while the 1.4GHz SnapDragon quad-core processor should make short work of games and apps.
The original Nexus 7 was quite chunky, but this new model is wonderfully slender and also light enough to comfortbaly balance on one finger. The soft-touch rear feels nice too, and helps you to keep a good grip.
Asus has just announced the official UK launch date, and the new Nexus 7 will cost you either £199 for the 16GB model or £239 for the 32GB version. Our full review is coming soon!
