Specification of Sony's Xperia i1 leaks

Yesterday we heard confirmation from Sony that it was launching before the year is out, but details of the Sony Xperia i1 were still pretty scarce. Things seem a little clearer today.

At least, they do if you believe the ePrice website, which offered up a back shot of the new phone, but more interestingly, a breakdown of its features, including confirmation of perhaps its headline feature. Thati s still said to be a 20-megapixel camera, possibly with a dedicated camera button, matched up with a Sony G lens and the Bionz image processing engine.

In addition to that, the upcoming Xperia handset is said to feature a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 chip, Adreno 330 graphics, 2GB RAM, 16GB of storage, a microSD slot, LTE and NFC support, a 5-inch full HD display, a 2-megapixel front camera and a 3000 mAh battery. Water resistance too, which is Sony's 'thing' right now.

Still no firm launch date though, but as we said yesterday, the IFA event in September is very likely.
