LG Optimus G2 snapped and detailed ahead of launch

We know it is being launched in New York on 7 August and we had a rumoured specification. But today, we seem to have a full house in regard to the LG Optimus G2.

Still some weeks from launch, the G2 has been subject to a hands-on, with photos (including the one above) and a full feature breakdown. It probably leaves the official launch event at a little hollow, although it will be a chance to get our own hands-on with the hardware.

Anyway, let's look at what this particular hands-on has to reveal. It points to a phone not a million miles from the rounded design of the Nexus 4, but with a little less bulk. It has a 5.2-inch, 1080p display, with a very fine bezel for near edge-to-edge viewing. That rocker switch is also on the back, along with what's thought to be a 13-megapixel camera sensor and inside, a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB RAM.

No sign of Key Lime Pie here sadly, with this model running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. To be expected really, as that was previously rumoured.

Anyway, that's it, the next LG flagship, which will be shown off in just under a month by the company itself, likely to be on the shelves in the autumn.
