Plenty of retro camera apps around, so it's surprising that one of the names most associated with retro cameras hasn't really made more of the market. Well, Polaroid is now pushing on with Polamatic for Android, following on from last year's fairly low key iOS app launch.Whether it can cut it in a crowded market is another thing, especially as this doesn't come free. But what it does offer is a plethora of digital photo effects and the Polaroid Classic Border Logo.
36 frames in the Polaroid Classic Border Logo format and a choice of 20 filters, with the option to write a caption on the white border and share across multiple platforms - Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Tumblr or email. The app is compatible for Android versions 2.3.3 (Gingerbread) and above and produces images up to 2282 x 2271px resolution. £1.99 is the price if you want it. Alternatively, Instagram is free and although it doesn't have that Polaroid borders, you suspect that crucial factor and Instagram's large network of users will make all the difference.
