Samsung Galaxy Note 3 tipped for September launch

You might want to take this with a pinch of salt, but according to insider information, 4 September is the date for the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

That information comes via the Android Geeks site, speaking to 'a person close to the matter', claiming that 4 September date will for a Samsung Unpacked showcase in Berlin, which will be just ahead of the IFA tech event in the same city.

That date is an interesting one, as it will almost certainly put the phablet head to head with Apple's latest smartphone, probably called the iPhone 5S, with the aim of stealing its thunder and possibly, some of its market too.

As for the hardware, that's still a lot of guesswork. But the more educated guesses point to a choice of Super AMOLED and IPS LCD displays (depending on country), a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC processor, 2GB RAM a full HD display somewhere between 5.7 and 6 inches, a 13-megapixel camera and possibly Android 4.3, dependent on the release of that upgrade.

A few months to wait to find out, if those rumours are true.
