Nokia teases launch of EOS smartphone

Nokia just can't keep a secret. Ok, it hasn't actually outed its latest hardware itself, but it has more or less confirmed the upcoming arrival of the Nokia EOS.

Of course, it could be a red herring, but more likely, Nokia wants to build up anticipation for its phone with 41-megapixel camera with the '41 million reasons' banner.

Apart from that, it adds: 'Earlier this month, we invited media to join us in New York on July 11th. We are happy to offer Conversations readers the opportunity to watch the latest news unfold over a live webcast, right here on the blog.' That webcast starts at 11am EDT on the Nokia Conversations site if you want to see the launch unfold.

What we don't know is whether the Nokia EOS name is the final one or just a working label. However, we do have a good idea that the final phone will come with that 41-megapixel camera with Xenon flash, 32GB of internal storage, a 768 x 1280 OLED screen, the latest version of the Windows Phone 8 software, an FM radio and a 'flip to silence' feature and a  polycarbonate body.

The camera is also said to take a 35-megapixel photo and a 5-megapixel photo at the same time (one to save, one to share), and will use 'Nokia Pro Camera', which turns the phone into a very good quality compact camera.

All of that (hopefully) on 11 July. We'll be onto it if you don't fancy the whole press conference live.
