Huawei is once again the producer of the world's slimmest smartphone after the Ascend P6 global launch in London. This 4.7-inch Android mobile is an impressive 6.18mm thick, yet still packs in a quad core processor and dual 8mp and 5mp cameras. For the Ascend P6, Huawei is focusing on three key areas: design, camera and user interface. Design wise, the metallic frame certainly looks impressively slender and comes in a variety of colours, while the 120g weight places it at the lighter end of premium smartphones.
There are over 100 different themes available to spruce up Android Jellybean 4.2, while Huawei's 'Emotion' interface sports hundreds of new features including advanced power management and greater control over security. Then there's the eight megapixel camera which uses Huawei's IMAGEsmart technology, a rival to Sony’s Superior Auto Mode, which can apparently take fantastic photos in almost any condition – rain, sun or dark basement drinking establishment – without fiddling around with scene settings. You also get a front-facing five megapixel camera, the sharpest front snapper we’ve seen. Don’t worry if you think that’s going to capture your mug in too much detail however, because a built-in ‘Beauty Mode’ can apparently take ten years off your age and smooth over any wrinkles.
