HTC Desire 200 spotted

A new HTC smartphone has been spotted online, although we suspect the price tag of the HTC Desire 200 rather than its feature set will be the talking point here.

No, this isn't the One Mini or Mini One (whatever name is settled on), but a different mini phone altogether. Not a particularly impressive one feature-wise, hence the belief that this will be a wallet-friendly purchase.

A Vietnamese site got its hands on a pre-production model of the phone and as you might expect, took a clutch of shots (and a video) of the Desire 200 as proof of its existence.

It is said to be a mix of metal, plastic, and glass for its construction (no surprise there), with the inside offering a 1GHz single-core processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot for memory expansion. The 3.5-inch screen is just 320 x 480 pixel resolution and the OS on this running model is Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich, although that is likely to be Jelly Bean by the time it gets to retail.

That's pretty much all we know. Late summer looks good for this making an official appearance.
