The headline price is £50, but when you see the breakdown of features on the Vodafone Smart Mini, you'll probably realise that it is at that price point for a reason. But with one exception - and the one thing likely to sell this miniature smartphone. The phone runs Android Jelly Bean. Ok, it runs Android 4.1, which isn't the bang up-to-date version of the operating system, but it isn't far off.Aside from that, the features are at a level you would probably expect, with a 3.5-inch 480 x 320 pixel resolution screen, a 2-megapixel camera, a 1GHz processor, 4GB of internal storage and a microSD slot. All of that in a device measuring 115 x 62.3 x 12.2mm and weighing 118g. You also get HSDPA connectivity, GPS (with navigation via Google Maps), Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0, plus Facebook and Twitter pre-installed.So not likely to worry the latest big screen launches, but not intended to either. This is all about getting Android out there for a budget price and at £50, we really can't knock it. The Vodafone Smart Mini might be a useful back up phone if nothing else and if that's what you need, it is available now.
