Samsung rumoured to be launching Galaxy Note 12.2

I don't know about you, but when I thin tablet, I think of something smaller and more portable than the clunky computer I have to endure during the working day. Samsung, it seems, has different ideas.

Ok, it still opts for portable, but when we're talking about a Galaxy Note 12.2, it's slightly less portable and bag-friendly than most. But for some people, that big screen will a key selling point when it comes to deciding on a tablet purchase. Just look at the way phones are going.

Its existence is claimed by ETNews, which says Samsung will top its current big boy, the Galaxy Note 10.1 (pictured here), with the larger tablet and adds that an order for 2.5 million 12.2-inch panels is already in with Samsung Display and Sharp.

Those screens will apparently sport a WQXGA (2560×1600) resolution and the tablet will feature the S Pen, which of course comes with all Note products. Interestingly, the repot claims Samsung wants to get a head start by launching the 12-inch tablet to fight Apple’s 12-inch iPad, which is said to go on sale next year.

Now Samsung has an event in London coming up next week, where there's a chance that this could be shown off. But more likely, this will appear in the third quarter of 2013 with an eye on the festive market.
