Wikipad gaming tablet confirmed for UK launch

Love games? Love playing them on the go? You could be the ideal candidate for the Wikipad, which is available to the UK from next week.

A much-delayed device, this 7-inch tablet will finally be available from 11 June for £163 in the UK, offering you the convenience of a small tablet with all the fun of a gaming pad, thanks to its dual-analogue controller, wherever you are.

The tablet itself runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and utilises an Nvidia Tegra 3 chip, along with a 1,280 x 800-resolution IPS display and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, with 16GB of storage thrown in, along with a microSD slot.

As for the gaming side, the 'controller' uses a d-pad, as well as the four x, y, a and b buttons, with the gaming hardware able to separate from the tablet if you don't happen to fancy smashing some aliens or testing out your driving prowess. As for games, you can get plenty from the Google Play store, Sony's PlayStation Mobile games and Nvidia's TegraZone for Tegra-optimised games.

If all of that appeals, just a matter of days to wait before you can grab one.
