Nokia EOS could launch in July

There was talk about it launching at the last Nokia event just a couple of weeks back, but sadly, the Nokia EOS didn't make the cut. But it could be here in July.

That's according to the Mobile Geeks site, which claims the much talked-about phone will get an official launch in the second week of July, likely to be the 9 July.

A prototype has been doing the rounds, packing a 41-megapixel camera, which is the big selling point here and one that will set it apart from the competition. It will also capture HD video, with three different options for 1080p video dependent on frame rates.

The same leak points to a camera interface completely redesigned, with circular screen dial controls and DSLR-like sounds, throwing in a manual mode as well as auto settings. So aiming very much at photographers here.

Aside from that, the EOS is said to have a 1280x720 pixel 4.5 inch display, Windows 8 for the OS and less bulk than you imagine, when you consider the camera sensor it has to squeeze in. Less than the 808 pictured here, it would seem.

We can't wait to see it - July really can't come quickly enough.
