Samsung Galaxy Mega priced and dated for the UK

If the launch of the phone got your a little hot under the collar, you might be interested to know that the Samsung Galaxy Mega has just has its initial UK launch details confirmed by one retailer.

Clove has confirmed that the smartphone, which sits somewhere between the Galaxy S4 and the Note II, will hit the UK in July. That's the larger 6.3-inch model, as opposed to the 5.8-inch smartphone, which is hitting other territories.

If you want it, the phone will be offered SIM-free for £459.99 for the 16GB version. There is also an 8GB model (not being offered here). Obviously both the 8GB and 16GB model could be offered as contract phones, with details of those likely to be outlined in the coming weeks.

As for the phone itself, it hovers around that phablet territory, complete with Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) overlaid with the Samsung Touchwiz interface, a 1.7GHz dual-core processor, 3,200mAh battery, 4G LTE connectivity, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 1.9-megapixel front camera and a microSD slot.

If that appeals and you want to go SIM-free, you know where to go pick one up.
