Nokia Lumia 925 could be set for launch

Official invites are in the post for a Nokia event, but there are now rumours that the Nokia Lumia 925 will be the headline act next week.

Chinese site Windows Phone Bar claims to be in on the story, pointing to a showcase for the phone in London on 14 May. Yes, this time next week we could be waiting patiently for Nokia to show off its latest Windows hardware - if the rumour is true.

There is an event already scheduled for that date, simply titled 'The Nokia Lumia Story Continues', but notably without any mention of specific hardware. It now seems like the phone in question is the one previously leaked as the Catwalk.

No one is sure where the Lumia 925 will sit in the range, whether it will sit above the Lumia 920 or replace it. Likely, it will sit above, setting itself apart with a thinner and lighter aluminium body rather than the usual polycarbonate chassis.

It's also said to feature a 4.5-inch 1280 x 768 OLED display, a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB of storage, a non-detachable battery, and an 8.7-megapixel back camera. So not massively above the 920.

All should be revealed this time next week, so if you are planning to buy a Lumia phone, you might want to hold off a little while.
