Samsung Galaxy Core gets official launch

Not sure if it is worthy of the Galaxy title when we compare it with something like the Galaxy S4, but the Samsung Galaxy Core is probably worthy of closer inspection if your budget doesn't stretch to the flagship Samsung smartphone.

Saying that, the Galaxy Core is packing Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and all that the operating system offers, not to mention dual-SIM functionality, which isn't an everyday feature. So if you want to keep work and personal life separate, maybe this is a phone for you?

As for features, the Galaxy Core comes with a 4.3-inch screen with 480 x 800 pixel resolution, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB of storage, a 5-megapixel rear camera and a VGA camera for networking.

Some nice Samsung add-ons too, including Smart Stay, which powers the screen when a recognised user is looking at it, Smart Alert message notification when you pick up the device, Motion UI for motion functionality and the S Voice command service.

So not a bad phone if the price is right. We'll find out what that price is in the coming weeks, with the dual-SIM version of the Galaxy Core out this month, followed by the single-SIM version in July. We suspect low to mid-range pricing though.
