Samsung Galaxy Mega launches

We got wind of these earlier in the week, but the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Mega is perhaps a little sooner than we expected.

Two models are being launched, a 5.8-inch Mega and an even larger 6.3-inch version. But for the UK, only the 6.3-inch is scheduled. Well, if we're only getting one, might as well get the big one.

Not quite a mobile phone in the traditional sense and certainly not a tablet, we're once again in the world of the phablet, although this one doesn't have the intelligent stylus that's a selling point of the Note range.

It does, however, has all that lovely screen space (no matter which model you go for), along with Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) for the operating system and in regard to the UK-bound Galaxy Mega 6.3, a 1.7GHz dual-core processor, 3,200mAh battery, 8GB/16GB of storage, 4G LTE connectivity, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 1.9-megapixel front camera and a microSD slot.

Arriving with the Samsung Touchwiz interface on board, it is scheduled to make an appearance in the UK in the middle of May. Network details to follow.
