iPad 5 fascia hints at new design

If you caught the site yesterday, you'll know we mentioned that the new iPad was due to go into production over the summer. It now seems that some parts of it are already done and dusted.

Not just finished, but leaked too. It might be just the fascia of the fifth-generation iPad, but it does tell us more than you think. We heard previously that the new iPad would take its design cues from the iPad mini and we seem to have heard right, a supersized version of that or the iPhone 5, with a narrower bezel and perhaps a subtle change of screen.

Apple hasn't really done much with the iPad of late in terms of design change, so this next model might be a departure, as opposed to a simple upgrade in general specification.

We won't know for sure until the rest of the device leaks. With several months to go, that should happen well ahead of the likely autumn launch date.
