More details of HTC's Facebook phone emerge

Access to software has revealed a little more about HTC Myst, which is said to be the next Facebook phone and launching officially at an event on 4 April.

The Android Police site picked up on a 'software dump', which gave access to some key features of the phone, offering an insight into what it will offer. The end result is a phone said to be running Sense 4.5 with special Facebook integration, going by the name of Facebook Home. That gives special access to photos, messaging and contacts.

The software might not be specific to the Myst either. There has been talk of it being offered more widely via Google Play, which references in the code back up.

But it is likely to launch on the Myst first, a fairly middling phone, likely to launch with a 4.3-inch 720p screen, 1GB RAM, a 5-megapixel camera and the dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 processor.

Not long to wait for confirmation. Just a couple of days, in fact. That's not the phone here, by the way. The picture is of the HTC ChaCha, a previous Facebook phone that didn't quite cut it a couple of years back.
