O2 confirms BlackBerry Q10 UK launch details

The BlackBerry 10 launch in January brought us the Z10 smartphone, but only casually mentioned the other new handset from the company, the BlackBerry Q10. Now we have (almost) firm launch details of that.

This is the QWERTY version of BlackBerry 10 and with that in mind, likely to be the one that BlackBerry traditionalists are going to sign up for. It looks like a BlackBerry - and works in the hand like a classic BlackBerry.

O2 has added the handset to its 'coming soon' page. There's no details of either pricing or an exact date, but May gives you something solid to go on. We would expect the price to be on a par with the Z10. But if you really want to know, you can sign up with O2 to get all the details as soon as they become available.

As for the handset itself, well that QWERTY is the big selling point here. But there's also a 3.1-inch 720x720 Super AMOLED touchscreen, a 1.5GHz processor, 16GB internal storage (expandable with up to 64GB via microSD card), an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2,100mAh battery.

The phone will be available in black and white and with the likes of Blackberry Hub, Blackberry Balance and Blackberry World on board. If that sounds like your kind of thing (and you want a contract phone), head over to O2.
