Flipboard has been around for some time and is still one of those must-have apps, especially in the tablet format. Now version 2.0 is here, offering an interesting new feature. The principles are still the same, allowing you to build a 'flip' magazine from your feeds and social networks. But the new version, just launched for iPhone and iPad, now allows you to create and share magazines too.Just compile content based around your interests, from photos and videos through to articles, then publish your collections online, allowing your friends to check out what you happen to be about. You can run up to seven different titles at a time, with notifications when others are interacting with your magazine. You can chug the cover of your magazine and you can find new content via a hashtag search of Flipboard. It allows you to mix it with the big boys. Indeed, some publications, including The Guardian, are already producing Flipboard magazines. When yours is finished, you can have it listed in the Flipboard Content Guide, a magazine shelf you can browse, with the option to subscribe to what catches your eye.If that sounds like a cool way of spending time, go get the (free) update now.
