The masterful HTC One smartphone, rocking a unique UltraPixel camera and impressive features like BoomSound dual-speaker audio, impressed us enough to get a rare five-star review. Unfortunately you guys will have to wait a bit longer before getting your mitts on its sleek metal body, as HTC has delayed its UK release until the end of March.
The HTC One delays are blamed on a lack of metal casings and camera components, meaning HTC can’t produce enough of these marvellous smartphones. Worryingly, an executive from the company told the Wall Street Journal that HTC is no longer considered a top-tier mobile manufacturer, which means it’s treat with lower priority than rivals such as Samsung and Apple. That could explain the supply issues, as other devices are put ahead of the One.
An exact UK release date for the HTC One seems hard to pin down, with some retailers touting March 28. We could even see delays push it into April, with limited stocks on offer. That’s especially bad news for HTC as Samsung’s massive Galaxy S4 smartphone is due out on April 26, and it’s bound to be a best-seller.
