Mystery Motorola smartphone spotted online

A mystery phone with Motorola branding has appeared online, but no one is quite sure what it is.

Obviously, that gets tongues wagging about this phone being the much-anticipated Motorola X, said to be the next Google phone and likely phone to show off the next-generation Android OS, Key Lime Pie.

However, the phone, which has been picked up by the Tinhte site, is unlikely to be that handset. The screen is the tell-tale sign that this isn't the X. Basically, it just isn't 'premium' enough to be a new, top-end Google phone.

That screen is a 4-inch 720p display, which mixes it with a Snapdragon S4 Pro chip, an Adreno 320 GPU, 2GB RAM and a 2,000mAh battery. It also has a curved back, a black finish and a thin bezel around the display.

It's likely to be an offshoot of the Droid family, but beyond that, we don't know a great deal. More to come and judging by the finished nature of the handset, very soon too.
