HTC Myst could be new Facebook phone

Not the first time that HTC has dabbled with a Facebook phone. Indeed, it launched both the HTC ChaCha and Salsa Facebook phones back in 2011, with moderate success. It looks like it is trying for success with that format once more with HTC Myst.

Details of the rumoured Facebook phone, first leaked as the HTC Opera, have been acquired by well-known leak merchants @EvLeaks, which claims that the Facebook app, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, and other official Facebook applications will come pre-loaded on the new phone. So more integration, without being just a Facebook device.

Facebook features really need to sell this phone, as the specification isn't going to worry the top-end smartphones. If the details are correct, we're talking a 1.5GHz Snapdragon dual-core processor, 4.3-inch display, 1GB RAM, 16GB of storage, a 5-megapixel rear-camera, 1.6-megapixel front-camera, LTE and Android Jelly Bean.

Spring is being talked about as a launch date, but nothing set in stone just yet. No images as yet either, the one above being the old ChaCha, in case you are wondering. Expect images to leak well ahead of the launch though, that's the way things work these days.
