Samsung well and truly smacked down the competition last year with its multi-million best-selling smartphone, the Galaxy S III, which packed masses of unique features into a highly desirable frame. The Galaxy S III was impressive enough to bag Mobile Choice’s coveted ‘best smartphone’ award, so this Thursday’s Samsung Unpacked event – where the Galaxy S IV is finally set to be unveiled – is one of the biggest phone launches of 2013.
That’s why we’re dodging over to New York to cover Unpacked live, and bring you photos, videos and all the juicy news as Samsung’s latest mobile marvel is revealed.
The date: Thursday 14th March
The time: 7pm local time (11pm GMT)
The place: Radio City, New York
Check www.mobilechoiceuk.com for full news, photos and video as Unboxed unfurls. We’ll also be tweeting live from Radio City (@Mobile_Choice)
What we know so far
As with all big mobile phone launches, we’ve had to sift through leaks and rumours about the Samsung Galaxy S IV for months now. Always worth looking over with a sceptical eye, from this supposed photo of the Galaxy S IV beside other Galaxy S smartphones, to the news that you will scroll around websites using just your eyeballs. Finally, a forum post allegedly shows the finished Galaxy S IV but we can't help but feel it's only a prototype.
With just a day to go, our great mate China proved a good source of leaks as usual. An alleged photo of the Galaxy S IV appeared on a forum, with some possible specs. Could the S4 really be dual-SIM?
Samsung has of course been mega-tight-lipped, with the only hints emerging in the form of this rather bizarre teaser trailer. That trailer just got an equally-strange sequel.
