BlackBerry 10 gets its first update

If you have succumbed to the hype and gotten yourself a BlackBerry Z10, you've got a nice surprise this morning - a first update.

Ok, it's not an exci ting update and doesn't really bring in new features to the company's flagship smartphone. But it does improve a few. According to BlackBerry, it has 'improved performance' for 3rd party applications, so developers can build apps that run faster and smoother. It also paves the way for new apps to launch in March.

There is also a fix for Gmail calendars on BlackBerry 10, improvements in the BlackBerry Hub for logging calls and handling conversations, as well as general improvements for importing contacts from online sources.

The camera has also been optimised for better photos in low-light situations, the browser has been improved for handling online videos and media and finally, there are a number of battery life optimisations with over 60 battery saving improvements now onboard.

You should get notification of the update, which is 150MB in size. So you might want to do it in a Wi-Fi zone.
