HTC Tiara Windows Phone outed

HTC is looking to get back into the Windows Phone market, with a phone provisionally known as the HTC Tiara.

Of course, it's unlikely to launch under this name, but the working title is all we have so far. We don't have an actual image either, but we do have initial details of the smartphone.

These point to something referred to as a 'modestly-spec’ed Windows Phone', but with one notable feature. It will be among the first devices to run Windows Phone 8 GDR2, which will be the second update to the platform since it appeared last autumn.

Leaked details so far point to a design departure from the recent HTC One and almost certainly a step on from the HTC Windows 8X and 8S. As for the inner workings, early information points to a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, a 4.3-inch Super LCD2 WVGA screen and 217ppi, 12GB RAM, 8GB of storage, an 8-megapixel camera and 1.6-megapixel networking camera.

Images are almost certain to follow, with plenty of time available for leaks. The phone is unlikely to launch until at least the middle of May.
