Asus MeMo Pad priced for UK

When it launched last month after a long period of rumour, we had high hopes of Asus bringing the MeMo Pad in at under £100 in the UK. Sadly, that's not the case.

But the tablet is a 'cheapie', that's for sure. Initially shown off as a 7-inch device, it will be offered in the UK in both 7-inch and 10-inch incarnations from 7 March at the likes of Amazon, Currys, PC World and Tesco. As for the prices, £129 is the bottom line price for the 7-inch 1024 x 600 tablet, at £249 if you want the 10-inch with 1280 x 800 resolution.

Both tablets will run on a Tegra 3 processor and with Android 4.1, with around 8.5 hours of battery life while playing 720p video and 16GB of storage, which can be expanded via the SDHC slot. There's also a 5-megapixel camera on the back, a 1.2-megapixel networking camera and the option of a Bluetooth keyboard cover if you happen to be doing a lot of typing on this particular tablet.

A review should be coming up soon - or you can get a hands-on with the physical retailers from that list in just over a week.
