Mid-range smartphone could land at Barcelona event
A new Xperia has been spotted - with a proper reveal of the Sony Xperia SP tipped for the MWC event in Barcelona.
Codenamed HuaShan, but likely to launch under the Xperia name next week, this is a mid-range smartphone all day long, throwing in an aluminium-framed chassis with plastic back, along with a customisable transparent bar at the bottom, which can be used to alert you with notifications.
As for the inner workings, we're looking at a 4.6-inch 720p screen, an undisclosed dual-core chip, an 8-megapixel Exmor RS rear camera, 8GB of storage, a microSD slot and presumably Android Jelly Bean for the OS.
The rest of the gaps will be filled in next week, when it should launch at that MWC event. Our team will be there, of course, hopefully getting a hands-on with the SP.
