One of these was briefly spotted at the CES event, the other is new. But both the Acer Liquid E1 and Liquid Z2 are heading to the UK a little later this year. It's another pre-MWC launch, with manufacturers getting wise to the fact that headline space might be thin on the ground when the show kicks off properly, especially for handsets that aren't worrying the premium end of the market.Which is where these two smartphones sit, albeit at different levels. The Liquid E1 is the phone briefly glimpsed in the past. It offers a dual-core 1GHz processor and a 4.5-inch qHD display, with Android Jelly Bean 1GB RAM, a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel camera making up the other key features. It is also being offered in single and dual-SIM models and comes with DTS Sound and Float software, the latter blocking notifications from popping up when you're watching something like videos.Further down the range is the Liquid Z2, with a dual-core 1GHz CPU and a 3.5-inch HVGA screen, along with Android Jelly Bean for the OS. Interestingly, that is already being offered in the UK, priced at a very palatable £89.As for the Liquid E1, that's further down the line, with a price of between €199 to €229 being quoted for the initial European markets.
