Good news for sports fans who happen to be Android owners - the BBC Sport for Android app is now available. It's been a bit of a wait for Android owners, with the app landing around six weeks after the iOS app. It does lack a bit of the customisation of the Apple version, too. Although the BBC does point out that it will be 'adding new features to the app', so I wouldn't worry too much about that. You suspect the corporation wanted to get something out as soon as possible for Android owners and will update soon enough.Saying that, this is more or less what the iPhone owners have, throwing in optimisation for Android devices up to seven inches. It's also available for Android 2.2 and above, so most devices are taken care of.The free app also offers much of what you need sports-wise, which includes a home screen with the top scores, live and on-demand audio and video, a page for all the leading sports and events, daily live text commentaries on matches, live scores and stats, a full season's fixtures, football tables and the option to share via social networks. It works on both 3G and Wi-Fi and is available on Google Play now.
