Good news if you are the owner of a Windows Phone 8 smartphone - one of the big guns has just landed on that platform. We are, of course, talking about Spotify.Yes, (almost) everyone's favourite music streaming site has now landed on WP8, albeit in beta form. We're not sure why it's in beta form. Maybe there are still a few little things to be ironed out or maybe Spotify just wants to cover itself in case some problems appear. But as yet, the feedback to the app has been nothing but positive, so it looks like you can use with confidence. The finished app certainly looks the part, with the presentation and usability being picked out by initial reviewers as a strong point. Of course, you'll need to sign up to a Premium package to use Spotify on the go, which will cost you £9.99 in the UK. But when you do, you'll have access to millions of tracks without the ads, as well as the option of offline listening of your playlists (if you've created any) and to share the music with your Spotify-loving friends. If you want to give it a try, the app is free, along with the service, for the first 30 days. After that, if you can't live without it, you'll have to pay that £9.99 monthly fee. As a Spotify obsessive, I suspect you'll not be giving it up in a hurry once you've had a taste. The main competition is Microsoft's own, with the Xbox music service trading at a slightly cheaper £8.99.
