4G iPhone gets visual voicemail with EE

Remember visual voicemail? Probably not, as it was a feature Apple introduced as far back as 2007 for the iPhone and something most of the networks promptly ignored. Until 2013, that is.

To be fair, O2 has offered it in the past, but it looks like the EE network is going to run with it further, offering it now for 4G iPhone customers. If you want it and you have a 4G iPhone with EE, text iPhone visual to 150 to turn on the service. Once you've done that, you should be able to see voicemails on-screen, with the option to hear, delete and respond to your voicemail. But before you go ahead, you will need the latest version of iOS 6 on your phone, along with up-to-date carrier settings.

If you don't have a 4G phone and you are with Orange, you should also be feeling the love soon. According to the network: 'We're rolling out visual voicemail in a controlled manner starting with customers on the new superfast EE brand. We aim to offer it to Orange customers in forthcoming weeks.'

Bizarrely, the news isn't as great for T-Mobile customers, despite both networks being under the same 'roof'. According to EE, the company is 'reviewing it for roll out to T-Mobile customers at a later stage.'

So not great news for all, but if you have an EE iPhone on 4G, get in there and give it a go.
