Alleged Samsung Galaxy S IV snap leaks

Is it or isn't it? The Samsung Galaxy S IV that is, which is what this image claims to be.

Yes, the next flagship phone from Samsung, just sat there for over a month on Picasa, waiting for someone to discover it. Someone did - the BGR site - which has published it. You can probably sense our scepticism.

It could be right or it could be someone's pet Photoshop project. If it's the former, expect a squarer design than the current model, with a larger display and thinner bezel. That does make sense, to be honest.

But with Samsung keen to keep its big launch under wraps, you would have thought that security would be tighter. Saying that, a good amount of detail on the specification has also leaked out, so who knows?

That specification (if correct) claims the phone will launch with a 1.8GHz 8-core Exynos 5 Octa processor and a 4.99-inch 1080p full HD display, with the possibility of a 13-megapixel rear camera, 2GB RAM, 4G LTE connectivity, a micro SD slot, wireless charging capabilities and the latest version of Android too.

Oh yes, one last thing of note from the image. The date on the phone says 22 April, which could be the launch date if this image is correct. We'll only know for sure within weeks of that date though.
