Three iPhone models rumoured to be coming in 2013

We haven't heard a good Apple story for a while, but the rumour mill is back with a bang with news of three iPhone models for 2013.

Not only that, the China Times claims two of those handsets will be here in June, which really isn't that long off - although if you look out of the window, it might not seem like it.

Those models will be a slightly updated iPhone 5S, along with a far more intriguing proposition - the iPhone Math. The story claims this is Apple's attempt to supersize, even if it isn't supersizing that much. We're talking a 4.8-inch display, which is unlikely to worry Samsung and its Note stable. Other than that, both devices will have improved internal components and an eight-megapixel rear-facing camera.

'Math' is probably a working title. Apple is unlikely to take such a radical approach to naming a phone -it might be a translation issue, with iPhone Plus also talked about for a name. That sounds more like it.

So what about this third phone? Well, it seems Apple will launch another iPhone a year or so after its last big update. The only thing known (or rumoured) about that is a much-improved 12-megapixel rear-facing camera.

The original report claims that shipping of parts will ramp up for the first two phones in March, with production for both kicking off in April to create volume for those June launches.

All speculation right now, but it is speculation backed up with a lot of detail, particularly from the production side. If we were giving this rumour a mark, I think we would go for a 6/10. Maybe even a 7/10.
