Amazon introduces optimised iOS MP3 store

Amazon is chasing your MP3 purchases. At least, it is if you have an iOS device, with the company building a mobile site just for you. Well, not you specifically, you know what me mean. 'You' - the iOS device user.

This isn't an app, it is an optimised MP3 store for Apple's mobile browser, Safari. If you have an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, surf on in there and you'll find easy access to 22 million tracks to buy, along with other Amazon features like personalised recommendations, bestseller lists and customer ratings. Probably worth doing just to check there isn't a better deal than iTunes for the album in question - or checking the daily deals.

All purchases (which can be made on your mobile device thanks to HTML5) are saved to the cloud, able to be accessed instantly from your Apple device and other devices too.

That's the theory, anyway. First to go with this is the US, which seems to be the Amazon way. If that goes well, expect Amazon to be offering this to the UK in the very near future.
