Roadmap points to early Samsung Galaxy S IV launch

There are a lot of mixed messages coming out about the proposed launch date of the Samsung Galaxy S IV, perhaps because Samsung doesn't want to impact on the sales of the flagship Galaxy S III, which is still flying off the shelves. But a leaked roadmap is now pointing to a launch sooner rather than later.

That's in contrast to earlier company information, which claimed the phone will not be unveiled until at least May 2013. But that leaked roadmap document says different. In fact, it says the phone will be available in the first quarter of 2013, which inevitably points to an MWC launch in February.

Or at least, that is what is being read into the document. The actual screengrab says a full HD 1080p 4.99-inch smartphone will launch, not the phone by name. But it sounds very much like the next big phone from Samsung.

On the downside, it doesn't sound like a phone with the rather cool curved screen Samsung was showing off at CES. That's likely to be further down the line, but possibly part of the next Galaxy Note phone, which should be along in the second half of 2013.
