Virgin Media offers Google Nexus 4

Good news for anyone still desperate for the LG-made Google Nexus 4, Virgin Media is now offering it - and a little cheaper than the other networks too.

It all depends on the deal you opt for. The cheapest one listed with Virgin is £31 per month with the 'free' phone, which gives you 200 minutes of calls, 500 texts and 500MB of mobile web. If you want that isn't enough, deals that offer more at a higher cost are also available.

Note that Virgin customers (TV and broadband) also get free insurance, unlimited calls and a potential discount on the contract price. See the site for all of that. After all, if you are signing up for a two-year period, you want to get as much as you can for as little as possible.

The only cloud is the possibility that the phone could become old news in the fairly near future. A report in the International Business Times claims LG has already halted production of the phone, despite it hardly being available to buy directly from Google for its entire lifespan due to huge and unexpected demand.

It seems that a successor is being planned, possibly showcasing the next Android operating system (Key Lime Pie) and with an improved 2GHz processor. It could mean a fresh start too, this time with enough stock to deal with the huge demand for a flagship Google phone.

No word on when that will land, but stock of the current Nexus 4 with Virgin Media is available now.
