Sony Xperia Z spotted on CES floor

See this picture? It's the Sony Xperia Z, likely to be Sony's next flagship smartphone.

It was snapped in the CES event hall ahead of the big trade show opening. With that in mind, I think it's fair to say that we will see a launch in the next couple of days. Sony is hosting its event in the early hours of tomorrow morning, so when you get up in the morning, our team on the CES floor will have all the details, all being well.

Not that there's much to show off from Sony, as most of the details seem to have been spilled already. Most recently, we've heard (courtesy of leaked promotional material) that the Xperia Z will be water resistant and offer HD video recording, a 'full HD Reality display', a whopping 13-megapixel camera and something called a 'skeleton frame structure'. No, we're not sure on that one either.

Previous leaks have pointed at a quad-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB RAM and Adreno 320 graphics, which should also be confirmed tomorrow. All that seems to be left is a shelf date and a few words on the interface. Over to you Sony.
