Specification for HTC M7 smartphone breaks

As we mentioned earlier this month, HTC has what could be a flagship phone in the wings, with the HTC M7 perhaps the reason why the UK is not seeing a HTC Butterfly launch.

When we first heard about the M7, we had a few basic details, but no image. Now we have a detailed specification, but still no image. Although we suspect that image will soon be rearing its 'head' as a Twitter leak. That seems to be the 2012 way.

As for that leaked specification from a 'previously reliable source', the M7 will have a full HD 4.7-inch screen with a pixel density of 468PPI - over 40 per cent higher than the iPhone 5. The 'SoLux' display is also said to be a step up from the Super LCD2 screen, with enhanced viewing angles, outdoor visibility and colour accuracy. A screen up with the best of them.

Other features of note include a 1.7GHz Qualcomm quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB of storage, Android Jelly Bean, the Sense 5 interface, a 13-megapixel camera and a new image sensor, dubbed Cinesensor, said to offer increased image quality and improved features, including super slow-mo. 1080p video capture is also here, as is Beats Audio and stereo speakers.

It is likely to replace the HTC One X (pictured here) when it launches, which should be at the MWC event in February. So plenty of time for those preview photos to leak.
