Apple's iPhone 5S could launch in June

We heard a new iPhone could be launching early and a part said to be from the new phone was caught on camera just last week. Now, some more concrete details about the iPhone 5S have made their way online.

Those stories have appeared via Jefferies analyst Peter Misek and his latest research report, which is based on 'supply chain checks'. In other words, what's happening in the factories and on the production lines. His bottom line is a new iPhone, likely to launch in June or July next year, in line with other rumours floating around.

But unlike those other rumourmongers, Misek actually goes into detail about the phone. Among the list of features floated include a new 'super HD' camera/screen, a better battery and NFC. In addition, 128GB storage has been mentioned, as have colour options, between six and eight colours to be precise. He also says a prototype with a Retina+ IGZO screen and a new A7 quad-core processor variant with no home button is also doing the rounds, but that might not be the phone Apple finally goes with.

An early launch of a new iPhone has been talked about for some time and really wouldn't be a surprise in light of the increased competitiveness of the phone market in the last 12 months. But so much detail leaking out so early surprises us a little - Apple is usually pretty tight with its new hardware.

With that in mind, we're not entirely convinced that all of the above will go from rumour to fact when the new iPhone launches. But some of it is likely to appear. We'll find out how much as the story develops.
