HTC Butterfly officially confirmed

We're more than a bit confused. First, the phone launched as the HTC J Butterfly in Japan, then the phone hit the US as the Droid DNA. The rest of the world? Well, it was rumoured that we would see the Deluxe or DLX. The end result is almost full circle.

HTC has put up a webpage confirming the phone will launch worldwide, going by the name of the HTC Butterfly. There isn't press confirmation as yet, but the promotional page tells you pretty much everything you need to know. Ok, not everything. We still don't know for sure when the phone will be coming to the UK or indeed, how much it will cost. But we know what the Butterfly offers.

In short, it offers what the Japanese Butterfly offered, but without the 'J' in the name. That means the five-inch Super LCD screen with 1920 x 1080 resolution, a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory (with a microSD card slot), an eight-megapixel main camera, 2.1-megapixel networking camera, Beats Audio, Bluetooth and NFC. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is the operating system, mixing it with the Sense interface.

As we said, no news on price or date as yet, but with a rumoured HTC M7 flagship phone on the horizon, it is likely to be soon.
