Official shots of HTC Deluxe DLX appear online

It was mentioned on Twitter with an image just last week, but now some official shots of the HTC Deluxe DLX have appeared online.

The phone isn't completely new. It appeared in Japan as the J Butterfly some weeks back and has been confirmed for the US as the Droid DNA. But the UK has missed out so far, although that recent leak did point to a worldwide launch and a new name of the HTC Deluxe.

This latest leak claims the name will be either the HTC Deluxe DLX or simply the HTC DLX and that the phone will be offered in colour variants. The downside is that the handset will not see the light of day in the UK this year, but will likely launch next year, possibly at the MWC event, which takes place at the end of February 2013.

The DLX could be a variation of the Japanese launch, but it is likely to be very similar, which means a waterproof handset with 5-inch, 440ppi full-HD Super LCD 3 screen, a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm APQ8064 processor, an eight-megapixel camera with 1080p video, a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera, 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and LTE connectivity and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for the operating system.

We'll know for sure at some point in the future, hopefully HTC will offer up a hint about the launch sooner rather than later.
