HTC Deluxe likely to launch in UK

It launched in Japan last month as the J Butterfly, but HTC's latest attempt to claw back market share is likely to be called the HTC Deluxe when it makes it to the UK.

Like many leaks these days, this one comes via the @evleaks account on Twitter, with just the one photo, albeit one showing the weather for London, which is a big hint that this is UK-bound. The text that goes with it describes the phones as the 'global edition', presumably indicating that the phone will go everywhere except Japan and the US, where it launched recently as the Droid DNA.

As for the phone itself, features are likely to be similar to that Japanese edition, with a 5-inch, 440ppi full-HD Super LCD 3 screen, a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm APQ8064 processor, an eight-megapixel camera able to shoot 1080p video, a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera, 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and LTE connectivity and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for the operating system. It's also waterproof, which is ideal for the UK climate.

Probably a high-end phone in terms of a contract, but that should be confirmed in the near future.
