While some people might have been unhappy at seeing a new iPad so soon after the last one, the vast majority of buyers seem largely unconcerned about it, judging by the weekend's sales figures. It has been another bumper weekend for Apple, with official figures showing sales of 3 million iPads over the first three days of sale. That's compared to 1.5 million sales of the last iPad. But note that there were two iPads on the market this weekend, the much-anticipated iPad mini and the upgraded, fourth-generation iPad. Regardless of that, those are still impressive sales figures, especially in light of pricing concerns for the iPad mini.'Customers around the world love the new iPad mini and fourth generation iPad,' said Tim Cook, Apple's CEO. 'We set a new launch weekend record and practically sold out of iPad minis. We're working hard to build more quickly to meet the incredible demand.'So stock shortages right now, which is worrying with the run-up to Christmas in full swing. If you are planning to get one (or get one for someone else) this Christmas, it's probably worth getting an order on sooner rather than later. Those stock shortages probably aren't going to go away this side of 2013.
