Samsung Galaxy Premier get an official launch

The rumours had hinted at an imminent launch and sure enough, just days after it leaked on Twitter, the Samsung Galaxy Premier has made its official debut.

Whereas the Galaxy S III Mini took things down several notches from the flagship Galaxy S III, the Samsung Galaxy Premier just takes things down a little. It isn't quite the same as an S III (because that would be silly), but it offers much of what that phone is about, but for what we think will be less of an outlay.

So, we're talking a smartphone with a 4.65-inch 720 x 1,280 Super AMOLED screen, a dual-core 1.5 GHz TI OMAP 4470 processor, 1GB RAM and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for the operating system. You also get an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC connectivity.

UK-specific details have yet to appear, with the launch so far only going official in the Ukraine. But with a launch date of November there, we reckon that a UK shelf date isn't long off. Contract-wise, it's likely to be somewhere in the mid-range and could prove quite a success at the right price point for Samsung.
