Huawei Ascend Mate could rival Galaxy Note II
Details of phone with 6.1-inch screen spotted online

The Samsung Galaxy Note II could soon have a new rival. In fact, the Huawei Ascend Mate doesn't just match it, it offers even more screen space.

Pictures of the Huawei Ascend Mate (which may or may note be the final name) are yet to appear, but the details have been spotted on Huawei's Chinese site. Thankfully for us, those details have been translated, including the fact that it has a 6.1-inch 1080p display, beating the note's 5.5-inch offering by some distance.

On top of that, the Ascend Mate is said to come with a 1.8 GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and a 4000 mAh battery. Speculation also suggests this will be considerably cheaper than a Note II. Then again, as this is a Huawei device, that's almost a certainty.

Hopefully some images will appear soon, but we wouldn't be surprised if it  looked like the recent Ascend G600 pictured above, but scaled up from the 4.3 inches that phone offers. Time will tell, but as details are on the company site, a launch shouldn't be far off.
