Apple iPad Mini launch finally confirmed
Claims to have 'a little more' to show us on 23 October

The date was heavily rumoured, so it's no surprise to see invites from Apple popping through letterboxes confirming the date for the launch of the iPad Mini.

As ever, Apple doesn't specifically say it is launching that device. We just get the cryptic message of 'We've got a little more to show you'. The word 'little' being key to that sentence.

The 'little' tablet will be making its debut at around 6pm UK time on 23 October, possibly alongside a clutch of other hardware updates from Apple, although the iPad Mini is likely to be the only mobile device on show.

I think we're all agreed that the smaller iPad will come with a 7.85-inch screen, but everything else is still speculation. Until this week, we presumed the device would just be Wi-Fi, but when leaked prices appeared online, it seems that the device will now be offered with 3G too.

You can check here for the leaked breakdown of European prices, which indicate that the tablet could sell from £200 in the UK. More expensive than the Google Nexus 7, but after all, this is Apple, so did you really expect budget?

We'll find out for sure about both pricing and features in just under a week. Of course, you'll be the first to know as soon as anything is confirmed.
